Your first dental visit is scheduled for cleaning your teeth, x-rays, and diagnosis. We start by reviewing your medical and dental history and getting information to make a complete diagnosis of your mouth. Normally, that includes two cavity detecting x-rays and a large panoramic radiograph. The dental hygienist then cleans your teeth and the doctor will do the exam and diagnosis. After a treatment plan and consult is finished, appointments to continue your treatment will be made. It may be necessary for you to pre-medicate with antibiotics for certain heart conditions. Pre-medication may also be necessary if you have an artificial joint replacement. Please tell us when you make an appointment if any of this information pertains to you. If however, you call with an emergency, we will make every effort to take care of your needs immediately. Please come 15 minutes early to fill out your medical and dental history form or print and fill out the form and bring it when you come. |
